When building a home, people want the assurance that they are getting what they bargained for, so Tempo Homes likes to include a little extra. Those things that are considered upgrades by many builders, Tempo considers to be standard amenities. These items include dimensional roof shingles, ceramic tile floors in the kitchen/nook, baths, utility room, a higher grade of carpeting and appliances, granite kitchen countertops, crown molding in the main areas, and a security system... to name a few. But those are just the things that you can see with your eyes. There is the same extra consideration behind the walls with the important things that you cannot see. For example, Tempo uses 13 SEER air handlers that will increase the efficiency and comfort level of the air conditioning system. There are increased comfort and structural features like CDX plywood sheathing on 2 x 6 wall studs with R-6 Styrofoam on top (for stability and insulation), and structured home wiring which allows interconnectivity for televisions, phones, and home computer networks. Although each home is different, Tempo plans each one for maximum value, as well as livability. Randy explains, "In the 1970’s, people seemed happy just to have a roof over their heads. Today, that roof has to have plant ledges and recessed lighting under it... and that’s just the beginning."
