Today Tempo Homes is a mid-sized, custom homebuilding company. While a majority of their homes are built on the clients’ own lots, Tempo does maintain model homes to introduce their customers to their work and to new innovations in the construction and design markets. "Most of the time we are building modifications of one of our standard plans," Randy explains,” but it is fun when clients bring in their own plans and we can bring it all together for them." Customers have many different and creative ideas for their new homes, and Tempo Homes helps turn those ideas into reality. "Actually, I enjoy the design aspect. It's like putting the pieces of a puzzle together. It's great to see the house plan go from a piece of paper to a completed project. I'm sure it's the same feeling that an artist has, except my canvas is 3-D." Tempo Homes is in the business of building relationships as well as houses. For Randy, it's the enjoyment of working with customers as they see their new homes grow from the ground up. "It's fun to watch their eyes light up when they walk into a newly framed house and to see that 'WOW' reaction." That is why Randy insists on maintaining a personal contact with them during the construction process, or he would miss sharing with the clients the fun times that make the job personally satisfying for him. We strive to keep open lines of communication throughout the entire building process, documenting changes and asking for clarifications, so that the final home is exactly what our buyers have been dreaming about. Tempo is proud of the fact that we create a “Tempo file” for each home, a point of organization that is very helpful to our buyers in future years. We give all buyers a copy of this information, which includes all their personal change orders, color selections, and other reference material which will be helpful to them as they try to do matching and touch-ups after years of living in the home.
